Lizzy Margereson
I am a multidisciplinary artist and facilitator. In my work I use live performance to explore epic, mythical and intangible spaces existent within the everyday human experience. I have training in physical theatre & clowning (Ecole International Jacques Lecoq, Jonathon Young). I create performances that span storytelling, drag, cabaret, clown and live art that are audience/participant centred and are propelled by the unexpected.
My work as an artist is nourished and in turn nourishes my work as a playworker and facilitator. Play, learning & curiosity underpin my creations and creativity & imagination are central to my facilitation/playwork practice.
I believe in doing whatever is possible to challenge boundaries created by prejudice, social discrimination and unconscious bias in order to create accessible work and learning and working environments. I believe in listening, discussion and questioning to create work for and with communities that speaks about the lived human and more than human existence.
I make performances of all shapes and sizes, alone and in collaboration. Please find my record of work on my performance page.
